Dr. Sunilkumar Dhasan is an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology Silchar with expertise in advanced welding, friction stir processing, surface engineering, and composite development. He obtained his Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from NIT Tiruchirappalli and has academic and research experience at IIT Bombay, IIEST Shibpur, and IGCAR Kalpakkam. His research focuses on solid-state and dissimilar metal joining, microstructure–property–corrosion relationships, and high-temperature materials. He has published 24 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, with an h-index of 7 and 124 citations. He has received multiple Best Paper Awards and is actively involved in teaching, mentoring research scholars, and developing a strong externally funded research program in advanced materials and manufacturing.
