Mikhail Kuz’min is a Leading Researcher and Full Professor in the Department of Non-Ferrous Metals at Irkutsk National Research Technical University. A Candidate of Technical Sciences, he specializes in light metals metallurgy, advanced materials processing, Non-Ferrous Metals and resource-efficient extraction technologies. He has held senior academic leadership roles, including Vice-Rector positions in international and academic affairs. His research focuses on the production of scandium oxide and aluminum–scandium master alloys through integrated red mud processing, as well as high-performance ceramic materials for next-generation communication systems. He leads major national and international research projects that contribute to sustainable metallurgical innovation and advanced functional materials development.
