Dr. Prakash Gulabrao Ranaware | Surface Engineering | Best Researcher Award

NIT Rourkela | India

Dr Prakash Gulabrao Ranaware is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela. He earned his B.E. (Metallurgy) and M.E. (Physical Metallurgy) from the College of Engineering, Pune (Savitribai Phule Pune University), and subsequently completed his Ph.D. at the same institution in 2017. With a career spanning both industry and academia, he began as an Executive Engineer in a hot-rolling mill environment before transitioning into teaching and research roles at various institutes. His research interests include surface heat treatment of steels, centrifugal fluidization, severe plastic deformation, shot peening, nitriding and nanocrystallization, and transport phenomena in materials processing. He has published several peer-reviewed journal papers and holds a granted patent titled “A System and Method for Centrifugal Air Blast Shot Peening.” Deeply influenced by J. Krishnamurti’s philosophy on education, Dr Ranaware considers teaching a vocation of passion and purpose. He strives to cultivate curiosity and critical thinking in students while engaging in research and engineering projects that contribute meaningfully to society.
