Prof. Vladimir Yu. Bazhin is a Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor, currently serving as Head of the Department of Metallurgy at a leading mining and engineering university. He holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and has completed additional education in management and engineering economics. He has more than 35 years of experience integrating industrial practice, academic leadership, and international project activity in the field of aluminum metallurgy. His professional background includes senior engineering, managerial, and academic positions related to electrolytic aluminum production, melting and casting of high-alloy aluminum alloys, aluminum rolling and foil production, and automation of complex metallurgical processes. He has played key roles in the development and implementation of large-scale industrial and research projects in the aluminum industry. Prof. Bazhin is the author monographs, 165 scientific documents, and 80 patents. His total citation count is 1,156, with a current h-index of 15. He has supervised 20 PhD candidates and more than 80 graduate engineers. His research interests focus on aluminum electrolysis, advanced aluminum alloys, metallurgical process automation, and industrial safety. He serves as an expert and member of multiple scientific and professional councils and editorial boards. His achievements have been recognized through numerous professional and academic awards, reflecting a significant contribution to metallurgical science, engineering education, and industrial innovation.
